Wander the shambles in York and enjoy the traditional pop up stalls at St Nicholas Fair plus a visit to Leeds with its 100 Bavarian-style traditional, timber market stalls decked out in festive lighting. Treat yourself to a mulled wine or festive treat and of course pick up your Christmas gifts.

Today, we visit the magical St Nicholas Christmas Fayre in York. Set in the historic centre with its famous shopping area known as 'The Shambles', this annual Christmas Fayre has continued since medieval times. The city comes alive with Victorian-costumed traders, carol singers and delicious smells of roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate laced with brandy.
Enjoy a visit to the Leeds Christkindelmarket. A little piece of Germany on Millennium Square in the heart of Leeds, over 100 traders from Frankfurt set up stalls for the annual Christkindelmarket. Browse cosy chalets selling unique gifts including handmade jewellery, toys and clothing, and be sure to treat yourself to traditional delicacies such as stollen, bratwurst, gingerbread and Glühwein.
We depart the hotel this morning full of festive cheer and return home.
Please note that if Christmas markets are rescheduled or cancelled, the excursions will still visit the same destinations for time at leisure.
