Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the Windermere Hotel for three nights. We enjoy a tea, coffee or mulled wine with a festive treat on arrival to get us into the spirit of the season.
Set in the beautiful market town of Ulverston, this festival recreates bygone times with its period costumes, street entertainers and horse-drawn carriages – it’s no surprise this is one of the most popular Dickensian festivals in the country. There is also a magical Christmas market, perfect for finding thoughtful gifts or enjoying tasty treats.
We return back to the hotel in time for our Christmas dinner, complete with a complimentary glass of wine.
Relax in Windermere, or why not join our optional excursion to Keswick? Nestled on the shores of beautiful Derwentwater, this pretty market town boasts an array of independent shops, charming cafés and fascinating museums. We’ll also visit Grasmere, which is famous for its association with William Wordsworth – a must see for any visit to the Lake District.
We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.
