Friendly group Amusing driver Hotel wanted us to sit in the same places in the dining room. This is not good for lone travellers who go on these types of holidays to meet new people

Excellent trip lots of singles so I organised a long table for dinner & breakfast for us ALL. This I think should be standard as one person I didn't realise was travelling alone till the last night. Please put this in practice for ALL dinning room meals ... THEY CAN JUST SAY NO if they want to be alone but we should have that choice

We recently returned from a long weekend at the Royal Hotel, Whitby, our second visit. The journey was ok except the main coach from Rugby had poor air conditioning which led to an uncomfortable journey on a very hot day. The hotel is in a prime position with stunning views of Whitby. It does need updating, our room was comfortable enough but the bathroom needed attention. The food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner. The excursion to Thornton-le-Dale, Pickering and Helmsley was very good, 3 very lovely places. Whitby is a great place to visit with plenty to see. To sum up an enjoyable weekend.
