Overall the holiday was good except for arriving at hotel to be told there was no porterage. Then the first meal after being on the road from 8:30 was atrocious, no choice at all just some kind of pasta dish that wasn’t even on the hotels menu. After joining the queue to complain at reception we were told that is what shearings had chosen, then sat down in the restaurant to see some people being served fish and chips including the coach driver. Still Waiting for feedback from shearings. This was the only downside of the trip, but it being the first day it made us wonder what we had let ourselves in for.

We really enjoyed it. It's the first time we had been to Scotland. Loved the steam train and the boat trip on Loch Ness. Brilliant. Would highly recommend

The holiday was fine. However, the hotel room was tardy, unkempt and the lack of a daily housekeeping service was below the standard we should and could reasonably accept. The one item that really was unacceptable was the forced and single choice of evening meal on the first night. This wasn’t the doing of the Hotel, but Shearing’s failure to assure a satisfactory n meal was suitable and available for all guests. The assumption that pasta was suitable for everyone, just isn’t good enough. Saying that the food that was served the remainder of our stay was plentiful and of a high standard. The daily trips were well worth the costs. The coach driver was pleasant, polite and charming. Will we go with Shearings again? In all probability, yes.

Onich Hotel was not equiped to accommodate coach parties. Managers were helpful and obliging but short of staff, no porterage and no entertainment. Limited menu choice and Shearings had the audacity to instruct hotel to serve us pasta for evening meal on first night. Outrageous! light not working over mirror, loose skirting boards and insufficient storage space in bathroom with £100 supplement. Overpriced for what we had. Thanks to innovative coach driver we had a trip to Caledonian Hotel for some entertainment due to our isolated location. Jacobite train journey excellent but overall expensive for facilities available and standards did not match the price of coach tour.
