We had a 4 night stay here and won't be going back. Our room was on the ground floor next to the car park, not a problem apart from there not being any net curtains or blinds at the window so no privacy at all. The food was very mediocre. The 1st night I had spaghetti bolognese, when I got to the 3rd piece of bone I gave up. The second I had fish cake it was awful, very dry and overcooked. The breakfast was very basic. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant so I suppose this says it all. There was no entertainment although it was advertised that there would be. All in all a disappointing holiday. We had always supported Shearings going on many holidays to their hotels. I'm afraid that anything that is linked in any way to them will not be used in the future.

Excellent hotel, in extensive grounds, allowing easy free parking, with very comfy beds, good food and helpful staff. Superb curtains and pelmets - I’d like some! - and sofas and chairs. Plenty of hot water, with good showers. Paintwork needs a bit of TLC, though.
