Local departure by coach, then on to your hotel for four nights. We enjoy a festive treat on arrival to get into the spirit of the season.
Today, we head to Manchester to explore its Christmas markets. One of the UK’s largest festive markets, you’ll find over 225 stalls spread around the city centre. The Manchester Christmas lights trail will illuminate the city and provide perfect opportunities for photos, while the festive chalets offer plenty of tempting food and drink options, such as Bratwurst, mulled wine and hot chocolate – you’re guaranteed to be immersed in the wonderful atmosphere.

Alternatively, why not join our optional excursion to Liverpool? This fascinating city has so much to see and do; visit the Beatles Museum and have a drink in the Cavern Club; join a hop-on hop-off bus tour to take in the must-see sights; or uncover history at one of the many museums. Liverpool also hosts a fantastic festive market in front of St Georges Hall, where you can browse over 40 wonderful stalls selling hand-crafted gifts, traditional delicacies and more.

Visit medieval Chester, a city rich in heritage with many historic sights, such as the Roman Amphitheatre, walls and cathedral. Why not take a picture with the Eastgate Clock, the country's second most photographed clock after Big Ben? This stunningly ornate landmark was built to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee of 1897. Chester is also famous for its shopping ‘Rows,’ which boasts excellent shops, boutiques and restaurants, and if you’re looking to explore the city from a unique perspective, you can enjoy a cruise along the stunning River Dee.
