Today, we visit Scotland’s remarkable capital, Edinburgh. There’s no shortage of attractions, such as Calton Hill, which is home to Edinburgh’s most prominent monuments, the National Museum of Scotland and the Scotch Whisky Experience. Edinburgh Castle is a must-see, with the oldest parts of the complex dating back to the 11th century. Why not wander down the famous Royal Mile or Princes Street or simply just admire the architecture in this beautiful city?
At this time of year, wooden chalets pop up throughout Edinburgh, home to traders from across the country selling the traditional festive foods and hand-crafted gifts.
We return back to the hotel in time for our 'Christmas Dinner’.
Enjoy a day to relax in the hotel.
Alternatively, why not join our optional excursion to historic Stirling? The town is famous for its castle – which is a must-visit for fans of history – and the Battle of Bannockburn which took place on the outskirts of the town. With free time to explore at your own leisure, you could also visit the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Museum or enjoy a spot of shopping on the high street.
