Turkey & Tinsel in North Devon

Local departure by coach, then on to our hotel for four nights.

Today we visit Lynton and Lynmouth. These picturesque twin coastal villages on the rugged Exmoor coastline. Pretty Lynmouth lies on the shore with its charming fishing cottages and its bustling harbour of gently bobbing boats. Clifftop Lynton offers superb views and is a vibrant Victorian village.

Day at leisure or why not join our optional excursion to Barnstaple (if staying in Durrant House or The Royal) or Bideford (if staying at The Royal & Fortescue). Barnstaple is one of the largest and oldest towns in North Devon it is full of pretty alleyways and courtyards. The remnants of the Norman castle can also still be viewed. Why not do a little festive shopping and be sure to visit the Victorian style Pannier Market, with its traditional atmosphere and unique Butcher’s Row.

Included today is an excursion to pretty Ilfracombe with its picturesque historic harbour of quaint pastel coloured houses. Visit the 14th Century chapel perched on Lantern Hill and Damien Hirst’s statue Verity standing guard at the entrance surrounded by dramatic clifftop scenery. It hosts stunning beaches and coves including the famous Tunnels Beaches, great places to grab a spot of lunch plus numerous independent shops for that festive shopping.
