Today we take a trip along the shores of stunning Loch Linnhe to the popular Highland town of Fort William. Known as the ‘outdoor capital of the UK’ and attracting many visitors who wish to climb the majestic Ben Nevis, Fort William also has plenty to do that requires less energy! Enjoy a wee dram at Ben Nevis Distillery or visit the West Highland Museum. We return back to the hotel in time for our 'Christmas Dinner' complete with a complimentary glass of wine.
Relax in Oban or join our optional excursion to the Glencoe Visitor Centre. Nestled into the spectacular landscape, at the foot of the glen, here you will find an interesting exhibition telling the stories of this epic region, a delightful café and a spectacular viewing platform for some wonderful photo opportunities.
The optional excursions will be available to book during your tour.
Prices are per person and are subject to change. Payment will be in sterling (cash payments only).
This morning we visit white-walled Inveraray. Sitting on the western shore of Loch Fyne since 1745, when it was established by the 3rd Duke of Argyll, head of Clan Campbell, the town has a long history and many fine Georgian buildings. Explore at your own pace, perhaps visiting the neoclassical church, or the Jail which is now an award-winning museum that tells of the lives of prisoners throughout the centuries. Venture just outside of the town and you will find Inveraray Castle which remains the family home of the Dukes of Argyll to this day and is set in extensive grounds. We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.
We depart the hotel this morning full of festive cheer and return home.
You will stay for four nights at Great Western Hotel in Oban.
