Blenheim Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with over 300 years of history. Situated in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, it is one of England's largest houses and is a stunning example of architecture.
Arguably, it is most famous as the birthplace and home of Sir Winston Churchill, England's Prime Minister between 1940-45 and 1951-55. There are exhibitions here dedicated to one of our greatest leaders and the work he did during the war.
Blenheim Palace comes alive at this time of year with beautiful Christmas decorations; and a Christmas market in The Great Court, where you can stock up on festive treats.
Stratford-upon-Avon is a pretty riverside town, most famous as the birthplace of Shakespeare. You may choose to immerse yourself in the Bard's world and visit his birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, or his final resting place at Holy Trinity Church. Beside Shakespearean attractions, Stratford offers lots to do, with excellent shops and restaurants, pretty timbered buildings and cruises upon the river.
We depart the hotel this morning full of festive cheer and return home.
Please note that if Christmas events are rescheduled or cancelled, the excursions will still visit the same destinations for time at leisure.
You will stay for four nights at the 3-star Charlecote Pheasant Hotel near Stratford-upon-Avon.
