Wonderful to see the bulbfields from a steam train. Enjoyed the visit to Keukenhof Gardens too. The evening meals at the hotel were not good (and no restaurants or bars nearby). Breakfasts were great. We expected long days as you want to see as much as possible during the trip, but evening meal was served almost as soon as we returned to the hotel (one evening at 6pm!) so no time to have a shower or change the clothes that we had been wearing since 6.30am. Loved Holland, enjoyed the flowers/gardens but unlikely to book another coach tour without asking for a full itinerary including timings.

Unfortunately I won't be doing a coach trip again like this one. What I did not realize was how long the journey would be to the hotel. Up at 3am and at the hotel at 10.30pm ish. Then up at 6.30am to go to Keukenhof the next day. Normally I love walking round Keukenhof but I was absolutely shattered and my feet were swollen from such a long coach journery.Keukenhof is still an amazing place though. The day after up at 6.30am for boat and steam train , again lovely but tiring. The next day was a choice of optional tour into Amsterdam but decided to forget that. So had a late breakfast and went into Amersfoort which was a short journey by bus, bustop only 5 minute walk away, cost 3 euro 20 each into the centre, card payment only, only 5 minutes again on the bus. Beautiful place, enjoyed a leisurely lunch and felt so rested after this visit walked back to the hotel which took about 25 minutes. The next day was the journey home again up at 4.30am and home just after 10pm, feet swollen again in absolute pain with that. The journey to and from Holland consisted of 3 vehicle changes each way, every vehicle different. We had our European coach which wasn't a Shearings coach but a Ridleys smaller coach, small but the cleanest vehicle we went on, seat room not spacious like the others, but had usb charging points and a toilet on board. Denis and Vlad our drivers were wonderful and helped out in anyway they could. The hotel was a 4* but the bedrooms said otherwise, very run down, not cleaned properly and on one day after a long trip they had not even left us any toilet paper in the room. The rooms were quiet and the breakfast was a good continental one. Our evening meals were a set menu, no choice you had to eat what they gave you. The outside of the hotel was lovely to sit out and have a drink in. The staff were very friendly. Near reception was an area were you could get complimentary drinks, biscuits, sweets and fresh fruit. Just a very long and tiring week, not for me unfortunately sad really because I love Holland. The crossing was from Dover to Dunkirk on DFDS ferry. We were given free meal and a drink ticket each way, so that was a nice surprise and the crossing was lovely and smooth, lovely staff on this ferry. But as I said it was not my ideal holiday and I won't be doing it ever again.

The food at the hotel was not very good there was no choices and on the last night we gadno side plates on the tables and when we asked we were told they had ran out. The drivers were brilliant, the hotel was clean it was just the food. We enjoyed the trip. It was our first trip with you and we didn't know the routine and we left home at 2.30am and didn't have anything to eat properly until 10.30am if we had known we could eat on the coach we would have taken food with us.

Travelling alone at 72 for the first time was slightly concerned but need not have worried. The 2 guides/drivers were friendly and helpful. Already have 2 more trips booked.

Everything was perfect except for the food in the hotel as there was no choice only for veggies so if you didnt like the food you couldnt get an alternative even though the hotel had menu for other guests staying there
