Transporting you back to the fascinating age of steam, settle into the beautifully resorted carriages of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and soak up the scenery from a unique perspective. Staying in the coastal town of Shanklin, with its picturesque Old Village and stunning beach, we’ll also take in some of the island’s most popular sights with our scenic island tour.

Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then crossing by ferry to the Isle of Wight and on to our hotel in Shanklin for four nights.
Discover the delights of the ‘Diamond Isle’ on our included guided scenic sightseeing tour of the island. We will introduce you to many of the popular sights that the island has to offer as we pass Freshwater Bay on the south coast and stop at pretty Yarmouth – a bustling town with a natural harbour. We also visit Alum Bay, famous for its multi-coloured sands and the ‘Needles’ – some of the most photographed groups of rocks in the world.
Relax in Shanklin with a day at leisure. A traditional seaside resort on the south-east coast of the island, uncover the town’s fascinating history or admire the beautiful geological feature of Shanklin Chine.
Alternatively, why not join our optional excursion to Cowes. Around the world, Cowes is the town people think of when the Isle of Wight is mentioned. Known as a global home of sailing and is steeped in maritime history. Stroll along the High Street, Parade and Esplanade for wonderful views of the bustling harbour and across The Solent. Find out about the boating history of Cowes by visiting Cowes Maritime Museum in the middle of the town, while the Sir Max Aitken Museum provides another fascinating glimpse into the town’s story. Cowes is a haven for foodies, with numerous quality pubs, restaurants and cafes mingled in with shops.
Today, we will soak up the views of the island’s unspoilt countryside and quaint villages with a nostalgic journey on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Sit back in the beautifully restored carriages and watch the scenery roll by!
We continue to visit the picture-postcard village of Godshill, brimming with pretty thatched cottages which are clustered around the charming church.
Return home.
