Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to the Airth Castle Hotel and Spa for four nights.
We head through the glorious Trossachs to take our board our cruise on beautiful Loch Katrine whilst listening to the tales and legends of the loch.
The day continues through Rob Roy MacGregor country to Callander and finally historical Stirling with its famous castle.
This morning we visit two of Scotland’s top attractions - The Kelpies, and the nearby award-winning Falkirk Wheel, where you board a boat to be hoisted 35 metres on the world’s only rotating boatlift.
Afterwards, the tour heads towards Edinburgh for a wonderful 90 minutes cruise under the three famous Bridges, spanning nearly 140 years of Scottish engineering. The latest bridge opened in 2017 and is the longest three-tower cable-stayed bridge in the world. The cruise heads out into the Firth, as we enjoy views of the mainland and the islands, such as Inchkeith and Car Craig.
We stop at Inchcolm Island, where you can disembark to see the abbey.
We spend some time in Edinburgh. Overlooking the Old Town is the famous castle, with its commanding view of the city and surrounding countryside, including the Firth of Forth. During its history, the city has become neatly divided in two, the Old Town of pre-18th century times, huddled under Castle Rock, and the New Town, with its fine Georgian architecture. See the Royal Mile, the Palace of Holyrood, St Giles’ Cathedral and Sir Walter Scott Monument.
A magnificent day of sightseeing awaits - Loch Lomond, then across towards the Arrochar Alps and Loch Long. We continue over the 'Rest And Be Thankful' with free time in the ancient town of Inveraray, on Loch Fyne, with its castle dominating the skyline.
Later, we turn north and the scenery changes as you enter the Highlands. We make a photo stop at Kilchurn Castle, Loch Awe before turning south into Perthshire and along the shoreline of Loch Earn, stopping in the charming town of Crieff.
Return home.
You will stay for four nights at the 3-star standard Airth Castle Hotel and Spa.
