Lichfield may well be one of England’s most beautiful towns, with sublime 18th century architecture and a breathtaking cathedral – the only medieval cathedral anywhere to have three spires!
It also has a lot of heritage, as the birthplace of 18th century writer Samuel Johnson and home to Charles Darwin’s grandfather, with museums to celebrate both of their lives.
Today we’ll take a scenic drive through the peaceful Shropshire countryside, calling at pretty and characterful villages along the way, such as Market Drayton and Oswestry.
Today enjoy a trip to Shrewsbury, one of England’s finest medieval towns. The town centre is packed with framed black and white timber buildings.
