Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to Studley Castle Hall in Warwickshire for a four-night stay.
Stroll the streets of riverside Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare. Here you can visit many of the Shakespeare attractions in this unmistakably Tudor town, such as his Birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, or his final resting place at Holy Trinity Church.
Besides the Bard, Stratford offers lots to do, with excellent shops and restaurants and pretty timbered buildings.
This morning we visit nearby Royal Leamington Spa, an elegant town in the heart of rural Warwickshire. Visitors were first drawn to the town largely due to the natural spa springs that were discovered in the 19th century.
Later we return to Studley Castle so you can relax and perhaps enjoy some of the facilities and activities on offer - there’s traditional sports, a well-appointed gym, spa facilities, and beautiful grounds to stroll through*.
With an enticing blend of old and new, you’ll find everything here from antique centres, delightful tea rooms and independent shops, all in the shadow of the majestic Warwick Castle.
Founded on the banks of the River Avon in 914 by the daughter of Alfred The Great, the Anglo-Saxon town of Warwick was surrounded partly by a wall and partly by a ditch! Many of the central streets were destroyed in the Great Fire of 1694, and many of the buildings were rebuilt in the handsome style of the late 17th and early 18th centuries, with St Mary's Church dominating the surrounding countryside.
