Continue south into Italy and to our hotel on the Italian Riviera for a four-night stay.
Today we include an excursion to the fashionable resort of Nice. See the old town, with its pastel façades and ornate balconies, and the flourishing Promenade des Anglais, with its grand hotels and exclusive boutiques.
This afternoon, we include tickets to the iconic Flower Parade – the highlight of Nice Carnival. This event is one-of-a-kind, involving a convoy of colourful floats, costumed models and up to 100,000 flowers thrown to an enthusiastic crowd.
After a leisurely morning of relaxation, we head across the border into France and on to the beautiful resort of Menton. This charming coastal town boasts an idyllic harbour and enjoys a spectacular mountain backdrop.
The Lemon Festival (Fête du Citron) is the resort’s biggest annual event. Tonight, we enjoy the Night Parade; a wonderful mix of sights and sounds. Brass bands, orchestras and dancers all add to the excitement and splendour of this incredible street festival. Enjoy a fantastic display of floats, dances, music and entertainment.
This morning, you have the opportunity to join us on an optional excursion to Monaco. The Principality of Monaco’s eight square miles form the second smallest, but almost certainly wealthiest, sovereign city-state in the world, with 30% of the population being millionaires.
Nicknamed 'The Rock', this tiny capital is built against the mountains and sprawls down to the glittering shores of the French Riviera. Spend time in Monte Carlo, rub shoulders with the rich and famous and, if you're feeling lucky, take your chances in the famous Grand Casino where the lavish interiors are still decorated in the Belle Époque style.
The optional excursions will be available to book during your tour.
