Someone described it as the scruffiest building on the seafront and I tend to agree, it desperately needs repainting as many hotels have done to bring it back the splendour of Victorian age Inside fairs a little better although tired looking in many areas On a good note Kelly the receptionist was excellent as were all the staff. The room we were given was quite small with a view of a wall 2 metres away so asked to change rooms to a sea view, we were given one but had to pay for upgrade and we found it worth it. The room was a decent size and better standard than the previous one, the en-suite had a large Mira shower cubicle but the water pressure was so low it barely worked other than that we found it quite acceptable Food was a bit hit and miss, the buffet breakfast was plentiful and popular with the residents, evening meals were varied to say the least, on the first night a Friday we chose Tempura battered fish, just a piece of pre manufactured coated fish it was diabolical, things did improve after that but don’t expect 4 or 5 star Entertainment was on 3 or 4 nights a week, what we saw was good For the price we paid is was reasonable value for money and who knows we may well do it again

Hotel very tired looking,in need of TLC,bathroom very spacious, although shower had a very high step to get in and being disabled struggled but managed, shower head did not fit into holder properly and kept coming out when the water was turned on,bed not to comfortable, no electric socket by the bedside to plug my sleep apnea machine into, staff very good and friendly, entertainment was ok on the Saturday.breakfast and evening meal were ok,we had to come home early due to a emergency at home. Would I go back again, probably not,but was value for the the money we paid.
