A truly royal day out, we start with a visit to Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world; founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, it has since been the home of 39 monarchs. It is said to have been much-loved by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who spent much of her time at the castle. Highlights of our visit included the richly decorated State Apartments and St. George’s Chapel – the setting of many royal weddings and the burial place of many monarchs. There will also be some free time in this most royal of towns and you’ll find Windsor to be a lively place, in a glorious riverside location with great shopping opportunities and fantastic restaurants.

Later in the day, we visit Buckingham Palace. The iconic home of the Royal Family and the focus of national and royal celebrations, discover the magnificent State Rooms which are furnished with some of the greatest treasures in the Royal Collection. Wander through the historic Throne Room, the opulent Ballroom and the delightful gardens, which are an oasis in central London.

Palaces were fine, however the inbound arrangements were poor. Previous survey submitted.

Hotel basic, but evening meals poor. Tower of London in the rain disappointing because of long queues, but other included visits excellent. Driver Darren very entertaining, informative on journeys round London an helpful on every occasion

The palace tours were what was expected. Very good. But the holiday was 'marred' by the chosen hotel by shearings. Key cards stopped working twice for all guests causing ques at reception.Food was a disgrace. Eg. Slice of pizza or a chicken drum stick kept warm in containers placed over candles.. As for dessert. A piece of cake in a cellophane wrapper, similar to a service station shop.

The tour was a great way to see the sites we wanted to visit. It was only let down by the appalling Hotel at Ibis Heathrow
