Today’s excursion takes us to the breathtaking Snowdonia National Park, the largest in Wales. A highlight of the day is the journey on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which has been carrying visitors to the summit of Mount Snowdon for over a century. From Llanberis station, you’ll board the train for a truly memorable trip, so have your camera ready for the views.

We’ll also visit the charming village of Betws-y-Coed, nestled in the heart of the park and surrounded by lush woodlands. Near the railway station, you’ll find a museum with a miniature railway, as well as shops, cafés, and restaurants to explore. It was OK but not great. Marine much better than County. Room and food. One of our group was left behind on one of the trips and was very upset.v

The hotel was basic however you could not fault the food. The waiting around was just too much. A 3 hour stop off at a random unscheduled place just twenty minutes after setting off because our hotel wouldn't be ready till after three was extremely bad planning and poorly communicated.

Llandudno as a resort was good. The hotel room was far too hot and the windows couldn’t be opened more than 4 inches. The food in the hotel was awful. The coach trips were just to shopping places. We were supposed to go to Snowdon but just passed it on the journey to Betsy Coed. The driver of our coach Jordan was absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond to make our trips enjoyable. This was his first tour to Llandudno and he certainly done his homework and was knowledgeable. The driver of our feeder coach from Fleet to Rugby was also very nice.. we have had several Shearings holidays before and mostly to Devon, Cornwall and the Isle of Wight and have always been very satisfied with them but unfortunately we were very disappointed with mainly the hotel, food and the trips. So Shearings up your game or we won’t be using you again.

The hotel was clean and fit for purpose. My room was basic but clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was a good supply of hot water. The food was good with choices for each course. Service was good. I think the driver should have done some research on the train times at Llanberis. Several people wanted to experience the ride up Snowdon but we were unable to because of the time set for the coach to leave. The admin team are absolutely rubbish at answering e mails. On my way home on the Monday morning I realised that I had left my medication in the room. I emailed immediately, as yet (Saturday am) I have not received a reply. Very bad at dealing with issues, they should go to the bottom of the class!!
