Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then we travel south through the night towards Italy.
We continue into Italy and to Lake Garda for a six-night stay.
Enjoy an included excursion today as we discover the delightful lakeside villages of Malcesine and Riva del Garda, as we take a relaxing tour of northern Lake Garda.
Malcesine is a beautiful and quintessential Lake Garda town, with narrow winding streets and a 14th century castle that gives fantastic views of the town and lake from its clock tower.
Riva del Garda has a beautiful little port, with houses tightly packed around the waters edge.Verona is the destination of our optional excursion today. Verona is one of Italy’s most romantic cities, thanks to the fact that Shakespeare chose this city to set his romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet.
While the couple were purely fictional, there are many attractions which claim by local legend to have once set the scene for Romeo and Juliet. For example, there’s Juliet’s House, where we’ll find the balcony Romeo is said to have serenaded his love, as well as the Basilica di San Zeno where the two were supposedly married in secret. There’s also Juliet’s tomb, which is said to be located within San Francesco al Corso church.

We enjoy an included excursion to the magical city of Venice, where we’ll find beautiful architecture, fascinating history and vibrant culture.
Venice is one of the most interesting cities in the world, with its winding canals and reputation for being the birthplace (and adopted home) of many amazing musicians.
Today, Venice is an extraordinary city with lots to discover, from museums to art galleries, monuments to bridges, and everything in between. Some of the most famous places we’ll be able to visit at leisure while in the city include Ca' d'Oro, the Doge's Palace and the Clock Tower, as well as the Museum of Natural History and the Venice Academy Gallery. There’s also the Basilica di San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs, Rialto Bridge and the famous Grand Canal.
On today's optional excursion, we enjoy a nice leisurely drive this morning, travelling through the Trentino region and admiring some stunning scenery along the way.
We’ll make our way along the northern end of Lake Garda, passing the beautiful Lago di Toblino, as well as the pastel-coloured Lago di Tenno - don’t forget your camera!

Lovely trip but always seemed pushed for time while at locations. Hotels and food provided was great but could have done with a tour guide or someone to give some local information

The feeder coach that took me to Stop 24 was very nice but the coach that took me to Italy was not suitable, in my opinion, for an overnight journey. It was like a school bus with a toilet. There wasn't even a "pocket" in the seat in front to put a drink or book in, so I had to keep everything on my lap for a journey that took approximately 29 hours. This included a 9 hour delay at Dover. The drivers did the best they could but the support from Shearings didn't appear to be that good. The Lake Garda area is absolutely beautiful, The town of Arco was amazing but the Arco Smart Hotel is very basic. The small staff team were helpful and I found the food was adequate. I meet some very kind and friendly people which was great, as I was a solo traveler. It was the first time I have travelled on my own and I would consider doing it again in the future but I'm not sure I would use Shearings.

The trip as a whole was very good, but could be excellent if the standard of the coach was extremely better being an express coach meaning over night travel. The coach wasn't fit for travel not even for a UK trip from London to Birmingham. Leaking toilet, long crack in the windscreen and dirty coach full of dirt and dust. The only good thing I can say about the coach was the DRIVERS..... absolutely fabulous and made our journey as comfortable as possible with their humour and caring attitude, which meant alot to me as I was a solo traveller. Another thing I would recommend is to make it more clearer when booking or in booking need to know information is that the excursions aren't supervised and just a transport drop off and pick up service.

Just about everything was great about the holiday . The drivers,Lynn and Phil, were excellent and looked after us really well. Only downside was the wait at Dover on way out which was not Shearings fault. Great holiday thank you so much
