Discover the delightful lakeside villages of Malcesine and Riva del Garda as we take a relaxing tour of northern Lake Garda. Malcesine is a beautiful and quintessential Lake Garda town with narrow winding streets and a 14th-century castle that gives fantastic views of the town and lake from its clock tower. Riva del Garda has a beautiful little port, with houses tightly packed around the water's edge.
Enjoy a day at leisure or join us as we embark on a fantastic optional excursion to the southern shores of Lake Garda, where we’ll get to explore the pretty town of Sirmione and enjoy a short peninsula cruise. This famous town is known for its beautiful views and relaxed atmosphere, and we’ll be able to take in its many sights. These include the 13th century Scaliger Castle, and the churches of Sant’Anna della Rocca, San Pietro in Mavino and Santa Maria Maggiore. Spend time relaxing in this charming town and enjoy the scenery of this beautiful part of Italy.
with an extra experience
Departing from Garda's port, we set sail to visit Lake Garda's very own island home for a unique experience. Upon arrival, a local guide will explain the history of the island and of the imposing Venetian Villa designed by the architect Luigi Rovelli in the early 1900s. We take a walk around terraces and layered Italian gardens which all slope down to the lake brimming with local and exotic plants, rare essences and unique flowers. Here you can enjoy the most evocative views of the lake from a unique perspective.
After a morning at leisure and lunch at the hotel, the highlight of the holiday sees you make the short journey to Verona. Lose yourself in the maze of 13th-century streets that formed the backdrop to Shakespeare’s tale of star-crossed lovers. Enjoy an aperitif in a cafe in Piazza Bra, in the shadow of the immense arena.
This evening, take your place in the amphitheatre, soaking up the atmosphere as darkness begins to fall and the stage is set for the performance of opera. For opera buffs, enthusiastic amateurs or simply lovers of truly special occasions, a night at the Verona Opera Festival is a memorable experience to treasure forever.
Please note: there is a large amount of walking involved, as well as many steps to negotiate, during our visit to the opera. Seating is in the Gradinata Sector 4 area, (numbered places) on the steps of the Arena. Upgraded seating may be available on request, at an additional cost.
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore independently.
