Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the Cumbria Grand Hotel for four nights.

Our excursion today takes us into the Lake District and to its most famous town and lake, beautiful Windermere.
First we will stop at Bowness-on-Windermere, where you will have some free time to explore before boarding our cruise boat to sail the eastern shore of the lake towards Ambleside. After disembarking, enjoy some free time to visit the shops and cafés in the town before we return to the hotel.
Today you can enjoy a day at leisure in the hotel or join our optional excursion to Kendal.
In the heart of the Lake District, this market town is home to the famous Kendal Mint Cake! You will have free time to explore the town, with its variety of shops and cafés, and to view the river before returning back to the hotel.

Visit the market town of Keswick, on the shores of beautiful Derwentwater. Here, the main square is flanked by independent shops, quaint cafés and art galleries. Admire the beautiful surrounding scenery from the shores of the lake, where Catbells looms over the waters on the opposite side of the lake.
We also call at pretty Grasmere, in the very heart of the Lake District, home to the tiny Sarah Nelson’s Grasmere Gingerbread Shop.
Return home.
