Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to northern France for an overnight stay.
Head south through France before reaching Italy, and on to San Bartolomeo al Mare on the Italian Riviera where we stay for the next six nights.
Included excursion to the elegant resort of Alassio, with its magnificent backdrop of rolling hills. A popular resort with British holidaymakers for many decades, the focal point of the town is the Budello di Alassio, with its enticing shops and restaurants, charming churches and exquisite piazzas. Enjoy a stroll along the sandy beach before we head to the village of Cervo, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Here you can explore the shops and art galleries.
On our optional excursion we take a countryside tour into the lovely Nervia Valley and onto the charming village of Dolceacqua. Dominated by the ruined castle, this wine-producing village is built on either side of the churning River Nervia, and connected by a medieval stone bridge. The surrounding hills and terraced vineyards produce the grapes used to make Rossese wine or Vino di Dolceacqua.
We continue across the border into Menton, once a favourite winter resort of Queen Victoria. There will be free time for you to explore at your leisure. Menton is, in many ways, more Italian than French. It has its own microclimate, with it generally being milder than the rest of the French Riviera. Admire the pretty architecture as you explore streets lined with pretty pastel-coloured houses, and be sure to visit the 17th century Basilica of Saint-Michel, one of the finest baroque churches in southern France.
The optional excursions will be available to book during your tour.
Prices are per person and are subject to change. Payment will be in Euros (cash payments only).
Please note: *Please note that if the weather prevents the boat trip from operating then we will visit the resort of San Remo before returning to the hotel.

Included excursion into France. Once a small fishing village, Cannes is now a glamorous seaside town considered to be one of the best social hubs in Europe – it also plays host to the annual film festival in May! Take in the beauty and architecture of Le Suquet, with its cobbled streets and breathtaking views.
We will then continue to Grasse, known for being France’s perfume capital. Surrounded by beautiful blossom fields, Grasse is a stunning destination and is filled with lovely sights, such as Saracen Tower, the International Museum of Perfume and the Church of Plascassier.
Monaco is famous for its laid-back atmosphere, and we will certainly enjoy a relaxing day out here. There’s more than enough to keep us busy, with plenty of museums, gardens and monuments to discover. We will explore Monte Carlo, situated in a prominent position at the base of the Maritime Alps. At the western end of the resort is the world-famous Place du Casino, the gambling centre which has made Monte Carlo the playground of the rich and famous. Enjoy the breathtaking vista of the fabulous marina with its impressive yachts as well as the Palace of Monaco.
We bid farewell to Italy this morning and travel to our overnight hotel in northern France.
Return home
You will stay for six nights at the 3-star Hotel Bergamo in San Bartolomeo al Mare.

Some of the bus journeys were too long without a break. First overnight stay hotel at Reims mediocre and had to walk for at least 10 to 15 minutes to obtain any food in the nearest restaurant. The two drivers George and Nick were excellent and very helpful. Resort hotel good and staff very pleasant. Last overnight stay in Best Western Reims excellent.
