Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the 4-star Crewe Hall Hotel and Spa in Cheshire for a four-night stay.
Our first floral outing takes us to Ness Botanic Garden on the Wirral Peninsula. Born of one man's passionate interest in plants and his desire to share that with others, today Ness Gardens remains in true to the vision that Arthur Kilpin Bulley created over 100 years ago.
Home to a diverse variety of plants and planting areas, the seasons change the landscapes here and there is something different to discover around every corner, from wildflower meadows to rock gardens.
We continue to visit the historic city of Chester. Rich in heritage and culture, there are many fantastic sights to take in such as the Roman Aphitheatre, wonderful walls and spectacular cathedral. Take a stroll along the medieval 'Rows' and browse the stylish, independent stores.
This morning we take a trip to Cholmondeley Castle Garden. The Cholmondeley family have lived on these lands since Norman times and the beautiful gardens here offer magnificent displays throughout the year.
We enjoy a tour with the Head Gardener to discover the Temple, Folly Water and Rose Gardens, along with the newly created Lavinia Walk – a 100m long double herbaceous border dedicated to Lady Lavinia.
Later, we return to the hotel and have the remainder of the day at leisure to relax and enjoy the facilities at Crewe Hall Hotel and Spa – perhaps take a swim in the indoor pool, or enjoy the spa facilities (charges may apply).
Admire the majesty of 1,000 acres of sweeping parkland, where ancient deer herds freely wander. Fragrant, formal gardens take you on a journey around the world, whilst the 18th-century mansion displays treasured collections of the well-travelled Egerton family.
The working farm brings to life a 'field to fork' story alongside rare breed animals and seasonal demonstrations.
After strolling through the pretty parkland, enjoy a spot of lunch in the Gardener's Cottage Tearoom or Stables Restaurant, where seasonal dishes use ingredients from the walled Kitchen Gardens and meats that are reared on the estate.
Return home.
