We journey through the scenic countryside on our optional excursion, firstly to Castel Gandolfo on the shores of Lake Albano and home to the Pope’s summer residence. (Please note: entrance into the Pope’s summer residence is prohibited).

Later, we continue to Frascati for an included short visit to a pergolato, where we can sample some of the local produce including snacks of porchetta, cheese, olives and wine.

Journey was far too long. Hotel was absolutely fine. Food nice, staff lovely, rooms clean etc. Drivers not very informative. My family and I have been travelling abroad by coach gor 40 years but I think it will be a long time before we ever do it again. The Journey was horrendous I think this holiday would benefit from a night stop off at a hotel outbound and inbound. Maybe extend the stop at the resort also.

The trips out everyday were amazing and everything we had wanted. The organisation at the Stop 24 was wonderful. Coaches and passengers coming from every direction at the interchange. It went so smoothly. Sadly, the food at the hotel was extremely disappointing. 10 guests walked out one night and never returned to the dinning room for evening meals again and by the end of the holiday half the passengers had done the same. No commentary on the coach from drivers - is that normal? We had drivers that did not work for Shearings and couldn’t help with the complaints that fellow passengers had with their rooms etc. The coach would just stop at a service station- no announcements were given as to the time of return etc - had to ask every time. The inbound transfer shearing coach was very cramped with no headrests. I couldn’t even stretch my legs out. This has made me realise that we were lucky with our seats. Not sure I would want to risk another holiday and get a seat like that. We will not be going with Shearings again.
