Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to our hotel for four nights.
The Royal Yacht Britannia is a ship unlike any other! For over 44 years, the Royal Yacht served the Royal Family travelling more than a million nautical miles and providing the perfect Royal residence for glittering state visits, official receptions, Royal honeymoons and relaxing family holidays.
We also have free time to explore Edinburgh, Scotland’s historic capital, where the majestic castle towers over the whole city.
Today, we'll be transferred to the centre of Dundee with free time to explore. Dundee is the perfect destination for art lovers, with The McManus at the heart of art and culture in the city and the Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre showcasing interesting installations.
We also include a visit to V&A Dundee while here. Designed by internationally acclaimed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, this museum opened in 2018 and it is the first Victoria and Albert Museum outside of London. Dundee was often visited by Queen Victoria during her reign because it was on her route to Balmoral Castle.
Afterwards, why not continue to explore the waterfront? One of the largest active regeneration projects in the UK, this area is also home to Slessor Gardens, Dundee Urban Beach, Discovery Point, and RRS Discovery – the ship that took Scott and Shackleton to Antarctica in 1901!
Scotland's most beautiful castle, Glamis Castle, awaits today. With over 1,000 years of history to explore – from Royal tales to fabled Macbeth Trails – this promises to be a great day out! The castle was the home of Queen Elizabeth II's grandparents, where she spent many happy childhood holidays, and it was also birthplace of Princess Margaret. You’re guaranteed to be impressed by the majesty of this wonderful castle from the moment you enter the Queen Mother Gates and see the turrets and towers nestled in the landscape.
From here, we continue to Scone Palace. The original home of the legendary Stone of Destiny, Scone Palace is spectacular and contains a superb collection of French furniture, delicate china and valuable treasures.
Return home.
