Relax in seaside Eastbourne or join our optional excursion into 1066 Country as we call at the historic village of Battle, erected on the site of the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The once-bloody battlefield, now a peaceful meadow filled with wild flowers. Here you can stand at the very spot where King Harold is said to have died and admire the ruins of the grand abbey built by William the Conqueror as a penance for the bloodshed. You’ll also find tranquil gardens and historic buildings plus an array of independent shops. We also call at coastal Hastings. A seaside resort that developed in Victorian times, the town retains its old-world charm with its seafront squares, grand Victorian facades, elegant parks and pier full of amusements. The old town has medieval streets with cafés restaurants and shops.
