We sail from Rotterdam to Zaandam this morning, arriving in Zaandam mid-afternoon.
Zaandam is located on the banks of the Zaan River and there’s free time to explore this charming town this afternoon. The Czaar Peterhuisje (Tsar Peter house) can be found in the centre of Zaandam and it is one of the oldest wooden houses in Holland built in 1632. Peter the Great stayed here in 1697 before he left for the V.O.C. shipyards in Amsterdam. With his brief stay, he gave this humble wooden labourer’s house its name and fame.
Enjoy a relaxing evening on board as we are berthed overnight in Zaandam.
Today we depart by coach for our included full day excursion to Keukenhof Gardens.
Here you have plenty of time to explore the 32-hectare site and enjoy the swathes of flowers, themed pavilions and wonderful atmosphere that surrounds this world-class event.
We re-join our ship in Amsterdam for our final evening meal on board.
This morning we bid farewell to our captain and crew and disembark for the return journey to the UK.
