Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then journey to Holyhead and our ferry to Dublin. You will enjoy a meal on the ferry. On arrival, we travel southwards to Waterford and our hotel, arriving in the late evening.
Following breakfast today, you will have free time to explore Waterford, known as the oldest city in Ireland and home to a harbour and port. During the festive season, the city comes alive with twinkling lights and impressive displays throughout the main centre. The main Christmas market is only hosted on weekends, but you will find plenty of festive attractions and shopping around John Roberts Square. Make sure to also check out the Viking Longboat at Reginald's Tower or visit one of the many fascinating museums.
Enjoy dinner tonight in the hotel with your fellow travellers. This evening is free for you to explore Waterford by night and enjoy a drink in one of the many bars with live Irish music.
After breakfast, you have free time to further explore Waterford at your leisure.
This afternoon, we travel to Dublin and into the centre. You can explore this vibrant city independently or join us on an optional sightseeing tour with a local guide, highlighting the main sights and attractions.

Enjoy breakfast before we head into central Dublin and have a free day to explore this fascinating city.
How will you spend your day? You can marvel at the festive lights that illuminate the city at this time of year. Enjoy traditional Irish hospitality in one of the pubs in Temple Bar and sample a Guiness. Or, visit the Christmas market in Smithfield Square, with its ice rink, ice museum and Big Wheel, as well as a variety of festive stalls selling gifts crafts and delicious food. Indulge in some Christmas shopping on Grafton Street and soak up the festive atmosphere of this vibrant city in one of its cosy cafés.
We return to our hotel for dinner and to relax after a busy day.
We depart for our early ferry back to the UK this morning, with breakfast served onboard. Upon arrival in the UK, we journey home.
You will stay for two nights at the 3-star Treacy's Waterford and two nights at the 4-star Plaza Hotel Tallaght, Dublin.
