Visit medieval Chester, a city rich in heritage, with many historic sights such as the Roman Amphitheatre, walls and cathedral. Why not take a picture with Eastgate Clock, the country's second most photographed clock after Big Ben? This stunningly ornate landmark was built to commemorate Queen Victoria's 1897 Diamond Jubilee.
Chester is also famous for its shopping ‘Rows’ which boasts excellent shops, boutiques and restaurants, or perhaps you'd rather explore the city a different way with a cruise along the stunning River Dee.
This morning we venture to nearby Nantwich and then onto Market Drayton - a pretty Shropshire town, famous for its gingerbread!
Later, we return to Alvaston Hall with the remainder of the day at leisure so you can relax at the hotel and enjoy Warner’s fabulous activities and entertainment, play a round on their 9-hole golf course, or take a treatment at their spa facilities*.
Today we venture into neighbouring Shropshire to visit Shrewsbury, one of England's finest medieval towns. Birthplace of Charles Darwin, this town is rich in history, with over 600 listed buildings including a castle and abbey.
Relax in Quarry Park, take a boat trip along the River Severn or explore the wealth of independent shops and cafés in the town centre - the choice is yours!
