Regional departure by coach, then enjoy a direct journey to the Peak District National Park.
Our first visit will be the spa town of Matlock Bath; Lord Byron dubbed it ‘Little Switzerland’ for a reason! The spa town is home to magnificent views and steep, wooded hillsides just waiting to be enjoyed. It has been attracting visitors since the late-17th century, and by the 19th-century it was a place for high society to be seen, including royalty.
Our next stop is the pretty town of Bakewell, best known for the famous tart and its beautiful location on the banks of the River Wye.
You will have time to explore the high street and, of course, collect a Bakewell pudding or tart from one of its many bakeries before we head to our hotel for a two-night stay.
This morning, we journey to Chatsworth to enjoy the country fair. Chatsworth Country Fair is a charming event held in the 1000-acre parkland surrounding beautiful Chatsworth House, filled with fun activities and displays that celebrate the best of country life.
It’s a grand day out where you can enjoy a variety of attractions, from exciting horse shows and dog displays to breathtaking hot air balloons and vintage cars. There are also stalls selling delicious local food and crafts, making it a perfect place to stroll around and take in the sights. Visiting Chatsworth Country Fair offers a lovely opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful surroundings while experiencing the joy of a traditional country fair.
The event is wonderfully entertaining and provides a chance to relive fond memories or make new ones with family and friends. It’s a delightful day full of colour, music, and laughter that can lift your spirits and create a truly memorable experience.
After an enjoyable day, we return to our hotel to relax and enjoy dinner.
After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we depart and and enjoy our direct journey home.
You will stay for two nights at the 4-star Mercure Kenwood Hall Hotel in Sheffield.
Single Room Supplement from £99.00
Please note: the event date is subject to change. If the event cancels due to unforeseen circumstances, the weekend break will still operate to the Peak District. We reserve the right to amend the date or operate the holiday without the event if the event cancels beyond our control. Most events require a certain degree of mobility as there will be walking from the coach park and around the event itself. Most events are open-air. To make your break as enjoyable as possible, we advise you wear weather-appropriate clothes and footwear suitable for being outdoors all day.
