Shearing hotels used to be good value, mainly because entertainment was included in the price. There was only 1 nights entertainment in our Monday to Friday break. Meals are ok but nothing special. Hotel old and dated. We have used Shearings a lot but might look at other options fior next year.

Food good, rooms tiny , but need to ask everyday for tea, coffee andr milk , as they don't enter your room during your whole stay

Staff were good but Hotel decor tired, bathroom needed good clean. Some room furniture needs repair. Hotel in good position on sea front.

Overall, a very pleasant stay. Unlike the public rooms the bedroom was a little on the tired side, but not enough to shriek "stay away". The restaurant staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. This comment applies equally to all hotel staff - reception and bar. The food quality was good, with a choice of four starters, mains and desserts for dinner. There was nothing wrong with the breakfast either! When booking I referred to my wife's health condition and that may well have been the reason why we had a ground floor bedroom, which was very convenient, especially as we could our car which was parked right outside our room. If there is a negative it's that the shower cubicle was on the small side and the floor quite slippery, but there was a safety handle to grip.
