This historic location offers the ultimate seaside escape! Enjoy an afternoon stroll along the long, sandy beach or discover the famous Grand Pier, packed with amusements and attractions for all ages. The town has a range of delightful cafés and shops, and the local parks and gardens provide a peaceful setting for a gentle wander.
Treat yourself to some classic fish and chips or indulge in an ice cream as you explore! With its welcoming atmosphere and scenic beauty, this coastal gem is perfect for a day of fun and refreshment.
After a leisurely morning at the resort, we head to the world-renowned, annual Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, Europe's largest ballooning event.
The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is a fantastic event that fills the sky with a burst of colour and excitement. Held every summer, this fiesta features hundreds of hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes, floating gracefully above Bristol. Picture yourself enjoying a sunny day in a lovely park, watching these magnificent balloons gently lift off and soar into the sky. Throughout the day, there are also stunt events, live music, delicious food stalls to enjoy, and much more! It’s a delightful way to spend a day outdoors, soaking up the atmosphere and marvelling at the beautiful balloon displays.
The event is easy to navigate and provides plenty of seating areas where you can relax and take in the sights. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share a joyful experience with friends or family, create new memories, and feel the thrill of seeing something truly special.
Hundreds of hot air balloons will be present, waiting to take to the skies (weather permitting). The mass ascent is scheduled for 6pm, but until then, you can wander around the many stalls and exhibitors, and watch the balloons as they prepare.
After watching the show, we will make our way back to the hotel for a late dinner.
After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we depart and and enjoy our direct journey home.
You will stay for two nights at the 3-star Grand Atlantic Hotel or New Birchfield Hotel in Weston-super-Mare.

Please note: hot air balloons need very specific conditions to be able to fly which includes low wind. Balloon ascents are weather dependent and cannot be completely guaranteed until the day.
The event is subject to change. If the event cancels due to unforeseen circumstances, the weekend break will still operate to Weston-super-Mare. We reserve the right to amend the date or operate the holiday without the event if the event cancels beyond our control. Most events require a certain degree of mobility as there will be walking from the coach park and around the event itself. Most events are open-air. To make your break as enjoyable as possible, we advise you wear weather-appropriate clothes and footwear suitable for being outdoors all day.
Mobility: the Fiesta takes place in the rolling parkland of Ashton Court Estate, where most of the park is grassland. There are, however, several smooth tarmac roads and some temporary pathways to make it easier to navigate. The coach park is a 7-8-minute walk to the main arena. The event does hire electric scooters and wheelchairs – please see event website to book these directly.
