A lovely day lies ahead as we take the hovercraft over to the Isle of Wight. Hovertravel is the fastest Isle of Wight ferry route across the Solent and is the world's only year-round passenger hovercraft service. You'll be on the island in just 10 minutes, where you'll have free time to explore Ryde.
Known as the ‘Gateway to the Isle’, Ryde is one of the UK's original seaside resorts and said to be much-loved by Queen Victoria. With miles of glorious sands, an attractive esplanade, beautiful gardens, a thriving shopping scene, and a quirky mix of seaside fun and Victorian architecture, there is plenty to see and do here.
Enjoy a day at leisure in Bournemouth.
Alternatively, join our optional excursion into the beautiful New Forest. A unique landscape that has been shaped over the centuries by grazing cattle and ponies which still roam free, there is so much to see in this National Park. We also call at the pretty village of Lyndhurst, known as the area's 'capital'.
with an extra experience
Today, we visit Poole, a bustling resort known for being the home of Europe’s largest natural harbour.
We also discover Swanage, which is home to a lovely sandy beach and lots of attractions, such as the Swanage Museum that tells the story of the area from the Jurassic period to WWII. Up to the early 19th century, Swanage was a small fishing port, however, the arrival of the railway meant it developed as a seaside resort, and it still retains much of its Victorian elegance.
