with an extra experience
Today we travel to the bustling town of Poole for a cruise through the harbour, taking in fantastic views of the picture postcard scenery along the eastern tip of the Jurassic Coast, past old Harry Rocks and into Swanage Bay.
After some free time looking around the quaint Victorian seaside town of Swanage, we’ll embark on an old fashioned steam train, a reminder of a bygone age, and glide through the beautiful countryside arriving at the picturesque village of Corfe with its ancient National Trust Castle.
Today is the day for exploring the quaint hamlets of the New Forest. First stop is the ancient village of Beaulieu on the banks of the peaceful river and best known for its 14th century Palace House, home to the Montagu family - we have included entrance to the Palace and the Motor Museum with its unique collection of James Bond cars, Formula 1 cars and now the World of Top Gear, a collection of the cars that were battered and modified by the BBC’s team and gathered up and displayed in homage to the world’s biggest car show.
Enjoy the atmosphere at Lymington. Discover the history and heritage of the New Forest at the Museum in Lyndhurst – don’t miss the grave of the original Alice in Wonderland in the churchyard, and at Brockenhurst meet the descendants of ponies and donkeys given complete freedom to roam by William the Conqueror in 1079 and still wandering free.
Return home.
You will stay for four nights at the 4-star Hotel Miramar in Bournemouth.
