Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to Torquay where we stay for four nights.
Our mystery adventure begins today with a visit to the secluded home of Agatha Christie. Located on the banks of the River Dart, this relaxed and atmospheric house provides an extraordinary glimpse into the private life of the Queen of Crime. Two of her novels were set here; Dead Man's Folly - with the Boat House in the grounds being the scene of a murder; and Five Little Pigs.
PLEASE NOTE: Today's excursion will not take place onboard our tour coach due to the location of Greenway House and inaccessible routes. Local transfers will be provided.
Enjoy a jaunt along the coast today to the Georgian fishing port of Teignmouth. Discover the delightful seaside town's attractions or stroll along the beautiful promenade.
Today we visit Torre Abbey's award-winning garden. Famed for it's exuberant plantings of herbaceous perennials, roses and dahlias, all set in the tranquil landscapes of the Abbey ruins.
Here you can also explore Agatha Christie's Potent Plants - a garden dedicated to celebrating her achievements and knowledge. Many of her murderous novels involved a poison or two, and here you can learn more about sinister plants that include the sources for cyanide, morphine and ricin to name a few! Dangerous or not, every plant in this feature garden appears in one of her stories or is connected to the author's life in this beautiful part of the world.
Here we also enjoy a delightful Devonshire Cream Tea.
Return home.
You will stay for four nights at the TLH Derwent Hotel, Torquay.
