Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then travel by Express Coach overnight to Croatia.
We arrive in Rabac and have time to settle into our hotel in this beautiful destination. Enjoy the resort facilities, relax by the pool or take a short stroll down to the sea.
Enjoy a leisurely day in resort.
Today we include a leisurely trip to lovely Opatija, nestled along the banks of the Adriatic Sea.
Spend time exploring the town at your leisure. Perhaps work up an appetite strolling along Opatija's promenade, the Lungomare, and enjoy a leisurely al fresco lunch. Much of the promenade’s length is shaded by chestnut and laurel trees, and there are handily placed benches which invite you to sit and admire the view of the islands of Cres and Krk looming in the shimmering blue of Kvarner Bay.
Enjoy an optional excursion to the picturesque resort of Porec. Porec’s richness is measured by its historical heritage, which has been deeply rooted in this area for thousands of years.
The old town of Porec is a monument of culture and has preserved the structure of the old Roman castrum. The main streets are still preserved in their original forms. See the 6th century Basilica and the old Roman ruins and explore the quaint old cobbled town at your leisure.
The optional excursions will be available to book during your tour.
Prices are per person and are subject to change. Payment will be in Euros (cash payments only).
Discover charming Rovinj, with pretty pastel-coloured houses clustered along its winding streets and overlooked by the Venetian-style bell tower.
Enjoy free time ambling around the narrow streets of the lovely Old Town, regarded as one of the most photographed on the Croatian coast.
We continue to the coastal city of Pula, where one of the top sights is the dramatic amphitheatre. Take a stroll through the town and you will come across numerous monuments of Roman architecture, including the Triumphal Arch of the Sergi which dates from the first century B.C.
You can also see Hercules' Gate and Twin Gates, the Temple of Augustus and of course, the magnificent Amphitheatre. This arena was built in the 1st century AD, during the rule of Emperor Vespasian.
Today we visit picture postcard Piran on the Adriatic coast. The town is known for its medieval architecture and narrow, compact streets.
This afternoon we travel to Umag, where you will have free time to explore the Old Town or relax in one of the many local restaurants and bars along the pretty coastline.
As our holiday draws to a close, we’ll travel through the night back towards the UK.
Return home.
You will stay for six nights at one of the Maslinica Hotels (Hotel Narcis, Mimosa or Hedera) in Rabac. Located in the charming fishing village of Rabac and featuring stunning sea views, these hotels offer a fantastic mix of scenery. Relax and enjoy the hotel facilities at this excellent accommodation option, where you are guaranteed to leave feeling rejuvenated.

Included trips were good. time to relax. final day before departing, driver tried to talk everyone out of going on an included trip. this was wrong, and the trip was cancelled, so the drivers had an extra day off

The hotel, touring coach and drivers were excellent, neither could be faulted.

We cannot fault the actual time we spent in Croatia but we strongly regret booking with Shearings due to the state of the coach that took took us there, provided the day trips and the travel back. The coach was totally inadequate for such a long journey. Only one driver, no drinks provided unless we stopped at services, the toilet was disgusting and way too small for a grown adult to fit in and close the door, the seat in front of me was broken which meant the little space I had was now taken up by the passenger in front of me. We were expected to be able to sleep during this very long journey which was impossible due to the cramped nature of the seating. The air conditioner was broken so it was unbelievably uncomfortable to be in due to the very hot weather. A complaint was made by another passenger during the trip but Shearings have taken no responsibility for this by saying that just the mere fact we stayed on the coach is 'acceptance' of the coach. The same shoddy coach drove us all the way to Croatia, took us on our day trips and brought us home but we were naturally dreading the return journey which was just as bad as the journey there. This is totally unacceptable and we have made a formal complaint to the company and are waiting a response.

The coach was terrible. Dirty, broken and stained seats. Roof was coming down in places. Not the coach that was advertised. Aircon not effective . I rang the company.they said that they would get back to me straight away. Still waiting. Segregated to a separate bar with plastic drinking glasses. The hotel was clean and food good. Just coach trip spoiled the holiday.
